Step 1: Choose your Country and Virus
Role Duties for Step 1:
- Determine which Spanish-speaking country your group would like to research, and confirm it with the teacher.
- No group will have the same country as another. Each country will come as a first come, first serve basis.
Role Duties for Step 1:
- Technology Leader: Use the links at the bottom of the page to find Spanish-speaking countries.
- Research Collector/Organizer: After you have chosen your country, write down a brief description of that country.
- Group Leader: Communicate with the teacher and verify that your country has not been taken by another group.
Step 2: Research your virus and remedies in your country
Role Duties for Step 2:
- As a group, decide which virus you will be working with.
- What is the virus?
- What are the symptoms?
- What is the duration of the virus? (How long does it typically last?)
- What are the common treatments in the United States?
- What are the remedies that are used in your countries?
Role Duties for Step 2:
- Technology Leader: Navigate the Internet to locate pertinent information related to your virus and country. Don't forget to utilize the links that have been provided below.
- Research Collector/Organizer: Record the information that is found and organize it in a way that it works in a fluid manner.
- Group Leader: Helps teammates with the research and collection of the information. Communicates with the teacher if needed. Assures that the project continues to move forward to completion.
Step 3: Create your Popplet
Role Duties for Step 3:
- Once you have all of your research and have organized it, it's time to create your Popplet.
- Be sure to incorporate pictures to correlate with your topic and country.
- Remember, your Popplet needs to be completely in Spanish. No English!
- Be sure to include the type of virus, symptoms, duration, and U.S. treatments and your specific countries remedies.
Role Duties for Step 3:
- Technology Leader: Decide the layout of your Popplet and what pictures you are to going to use.
- Research Collector/Organizer: Have all the information ready to be inputted into the Popplet design. Make sure that all of the information is accurate and complete.
- Group Leader: Help group members in gathering and arranging the information and images that are to be used in your Popplet. You are responsible for making sure that all of the information and final outcome meet the expectations of the rubric. You are also responsible for making sure that the link to your Popplet is put on to Edmodo so that it can be seen by the teacher and your classmates.

Role Duties for Step 4:
- Now that you have completed the research and Popplet, you will begin working on the final outcome: VoiceThread.
- Use the link below to access VoiceThread.
- Create your VoiceThread with the information that you gathered in your research, but rather than typing it in, you will take turns recording yourselves explaining what you found out in Spanish. VoiceThread has a free account, but it is a public domain. This means that anyone can see your work. Please do not put any pictures of yourself on here and only use first names.
- VoiceThread is like PowerPoint or Prezi, so remember to include pictures or even a recording of yourselves!

Role Duties for Step 4:
- Technology Leader: Again, you are responsible for the layout of your groups VoiceThread. You will design the layout and how it will flow with what each of you are talking about.
- Research Collector/Organizer: Like in your role for the Popplet, you will be in charge of how the information will be presented and who will speak about what. Remember, each topic must flow easily into the next one.
- Group Leader: You will be in charge of making sure that everyone records themselves and helping them with their pronunciation and grammar. You will also be in charge of making sure that the project is completed successfully and a link is placed on to Edmodo for review by the teacher and fellow classmates.
